Today things are much easier than they were before, communication, information and payment of services no longer has to be done personally but through technological methods that are very precise, fast and efficient. However, this great power that technology has accorded us can be used to do bad things, to steal from people, to steal important information that is going to be manipulated to do bad things. Data thieves set traps using public Wi-Fi because people love to use such and when they are connected they access your private data thus if you do not have a VPN never use it. If you ever come across a USB drive do not be tempted to put it in your computer to find out what is in it because this is another common trap, usually malware that is designed to destroy your computer or steal sensitive information is installed and sometimes it may contain viruses.
There are other cyber attackers that hijack your sensitive data and information and threaten to delete it if you do not pay a certain amount and usually the targets are big companies that can pay large sums so be sure you are protected from this by backing up your data everyday. Having employees that are trained thus know all there is to know about keeping a safe environment then you will not have to worry about cyber attackers who might want to take advantage.
When you are using shared networks it is advisable that you use on screen keyboards which hackers cannot access with tools that record keystrokes and later allow them to gain access to your system. When setting passwords make sure that you make them strong by using very unique combinations that are very hard to crack. Passwords should be changed every now and then so that it will be very hard to crack them.
